Sorry, I can’t say that I really understand this request – I think I need more info. A Client has a Referral. When the Referral is entered against the Client a Referrer is selected. ie the person who sent the Referral.
From then on that Referral is available for selection in the Appointment Edit screen and is automatically selected if it is set as the Current Referral when entered against the Client.
Is the request actually to be able to add a Referral (not a Referrer) from the Appointment Book without going into the Client Details section?

Introduced in V3 – By selecting the option to ‘Show Available Practitioners Only’ from the Calendar list (right hand side of the Appointment Book) – ‘Unavailable’ Practitioners are hidden for the Selected Day (works in Day View only obviously)

I would find this useful too so I could track which referrers are referring to each psychologist in our practice.

What we’ve done is add a ‘radio button’ to the Appointment Summary report that allows you to easily select ‘All’, only ‘Appointments’ or only ‘Meetings’.
This will be available in version 2.21.4

This is planned for implementation this year. (It already was, but we hadn’t added it here :-) ) Thanks for bringing it to our attention again.
GNote: this will be released in version 2.21 coming soon)

Completed for v3.5.
Client Recurring appts will continue to be handled by the ‘Copy Appointment’ functionality in the Appt Book. Editing of single appt times without changing the whole series is implemented.

Hmm – The questions that spring to mind are –
a) what sort of alert are we talking about? Is it a popup message, an email or something else?
b) who would get it? Reception? The Practitioner?Perhaps it would be better to create a report that can be accessed ‘at will’ to find these Clients? e.g. a report that shows those with Current Referrals and make the timeframe configurable in the report. i.e. show me all current referrals that haven’t attended “x” weeks and enable the user to enter the number of weeks.
Feedback on this is welcome.
28/1/09 Followup
This is great info to have, thanks.Perhaps the reminder process could work then – if we gave the Practice the option in Client Details of entering a “non attendance followup duration” for a New Client and one for an Existing Client (one that has already attended at least… more

The alerts sound good. Perhaps they could be called “you have new client alerts”. Being able to generate a letter automatically from a template would also be good.

That sounds good and like what we’re doing now on an excel spreadsheet. For new referrals we record referral date, days since referral, and the date a reminder letter is sent, usually 28 days after the referral was received. For existing clients, we are alerted after 6 weeks of non-attendance and the date a reminder letter was sent. It’s the psychologist who determines if a letter should be sent.

When more than one practitioner is treating a client, allow all treating practitioners to have access to the client file.
