I’d like to get a better idea of what our users expect from this sort of sync.
When I think of ‘sync’ I think of a 2-way interaction. i.e. giving users the ability to create appointments in external calendars and then upload them to myPractice, as well as vice-versa.
I doubt this will happen given that the Client needs to be created in myPractice before an Appointment can be scheduled, and Google Calendar et al have no idea of myPractice Client ID’s and what associated records are required to define an appointment.
We could definitely export data to Google Calendar in the future and update it by pushing data via a service when changes occur. Would this be of interest? Please chime in with further thoughts!

We’ve looked at linking to a couple of such services in the past.
One went broke half way through the integration process and the other stopped returning calls/emails 5 months ago. Forgive me if I’m ‘gun-shy’, but I don’t think there is a sustainable business model for those ‘add-on’ services.
We will be looking at rolling our own solution. But, it’s not a high priority for us – the demand is greater in other areas i.e. Don’t expect anything for at least 12 months.
Cheers,
G

Agree that this would be nice to have. We are currently focussed on managing the tasks of the day-to-day running of a Practice and attempting to provide a solution for those.
I see this suggestion as a true Customer Relationship Management option and not a something that is a day-to-day Practice Management Task – hence it’s not our highest priority.

This would be overkill for most of our customers. Possibly one day, but realistically not in the foreseeable future.
