        Yes I agree with you Glen I have made mistakes on invoices and have had to correct them As for tax time requirements a Once a year thing only surely the practice administrator can see that no further changes are made to data after June 30 Pennelope

        Hi Narelle,
        It seems you are wanting myPractice to act like a full-blown accounting package, which it isn't. And I doubt we will ever match the likes of MYOB in functionality.

        The development and support required to manage the intricacies of Accounting (particularly when you consider that we sell into multiple countries) would put myPractice well out of the price range of our target demographic.

        We already have the ability to prevent users from Deleting Transactions (see Options > User Admin > Permissions). We will look at adding the ability to prevent Users from editing saved Transactions, however, my opinion is that this is overkill and won't be used by the majority of our customers. i.e. When 'User A' Invoices a Customer for the wrong amount and realises the mistake, he/she is going to want to fix it quickly without having to jump through hoops.

        The current Auditing process, tracking 'who' makes changes to 'what' and 'when' is more than adequate for the vast majority of our customers.

        Hi Glenn

        Sorry it has taken so long to get back to you.

        At the end of each month we export information to create management reports, this includes invoiced income and payments received, and it is necessary that all measures are taken to prevent changes prior to this date otherwise the integrity of our reports become lost. Also once the tax return is complete it is legally imperative that information is not changed. This includes changing of appointments, invoices created and payments received.

        Most accounting software packages has a field for the user to enter a date and then disallows any change prior to this date entered.
